The Gestational Journey – From Preconception to Postpartum

Sat, 13 October 2018, 8:00 AM – Sun, 14 October 2018, 5:00 PM [GMT]

The Millenium Gloucester Hotel & Conference Ctr, 4-18 Harrington Gardens, London, Greater London, SW7 4LH, United Kingdom.

Parenthood, as a stage of life, can be transformative, exciting and beautiful – AND it can also instigate worries, concerns and at times complications and hardships.
The wonder of the human body is that it is constantly changing, and never is this more evident than during pregnancy, however as a woman transforms through the many phases of motherhood, these changes can become overwhelming, anxiety-inducing and confusing – particularly if there are any health issues.
The Gestational Journey summit brings together some of the world’s leading experts in the field of fertility, nutrition, diagnostic testing, hormone health and much more, to provide functional doctors, nutritional therapists and other healthcare professionals a chance to learn and gain incredible insight in order to fully and safely support women who wish to conceive, are already pregnant, or who have recently given birth.

As a mother herself, The Gestational Journey summit co-founder, Robyn Puglia – who is a Clinical Nutritionist specialising in functional medicine – discovered that there were many missing pieces to the fertility jigsaw puzzle. During both of her recent pregnancies, it became evident to Robyn that while there was a multitude of generic information on pregnancy itself – there were also big gaps in the accessible knowledge around many areas – such as supporting those with an existing autoimmune condition, caring for women during the postpartum phase and safe nutritional supplementation.

The Gestational Journey summit has been designed to bring together some of these missing pieces in one comprehensive two day event.

The summit brings together thought leaders from around the world to carefully and considerately address each phase in detail. From understanding the importance of preparing the body nutritionally prior to conception, supporting assisted fertility, learning about the importance of ensuring a healthy gut microbiome, how to optimise the womb environment, as well as understanding how to support autoimmune conditions during pregnancy, plus exploring how to support women after birth from a physical point of view, but also crucially from a mental health perspective.

The Gestational Journey summit has been created to provide any practitioners who work with women – whether specifically in the area of fertility or not – with a complete educational package enabling them to support their female patients through this miraculous time of their life.

Attendees will leave feeling empowered, educated and confident that they can provide their clients with all the information required to maintain optimum physical and emotional wellbeing from preconception to postpartum.

castor oil packs

castor oil packs

To support Detox reduce pain and support liver and bowel movements

Castor oil packs are another way to stimulate the lymphatic system, helping to cleanse the reproductive organs and detox the liver, support the Circulatory System: castor oil packs promote circulation bringing fresh oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood to the reproductive organs.

How to use them

Open the packing fabric and fold it into three

  1. Soak the fabric with the castor oil and apply the pack to the liver area first for around 30 minutes, securing in place with a plastic cover you can possibly wash to stop the oil getting onto you from the towel.
  2. Place a hot water bottle on the castor oil pack and rest in a quiet place for 20mins.
  3. You can then move the pack to your chosen area, packing for another 30 – 60 minutes, if you are enjoying its benefits
  4. The pack can be placed back into the plastic bag provided and stored in the fridge. The castor oil pack can be re-used up to 30 times. Apply extra castor oil to the pack as needed on each application.
  5. Storage: Once used, seal in a plastic bag and store in fridge.

UK residents:  Equipment needed and oil for the pack

If in the USA you can buy a better version here https://drmarisol.com/castor-oil-pack/  and there is a great video on how to use it!

When and How often do I use this?

If you are in the preparation for conception phase (this is the time when you are preparing to conceive but not actively trying to conceive), you can perform this three (3) times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes (up to 1 1/2 hours) each time during your menstrual cycle if this is painful for you. Some chose not to use this then.
